Child Dental Benefits Scheme

Many families would have received information about the Government’s proposal of the new Child Dental Benefits Schedule.

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) commenced on 1 January 2014 and provides access to benefits for basic dental services to around 3.4 million children aged 2-17 years.

The total benefit entitlement is capped at $1,000 per child over a two calendar year period. The CDBS has a means test, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A) or a relevant Australian Government payment.

The CDBS provides individual benefits for a range of services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions.

At Underwood Dental Care, we bulk-bill (Medicare) all treatment under the CDBS and are open after hours til 7pm on Monday and Thursday nights, as well as Saturday mornings til 1pm for appointments. For an appointment please feel free to email our friendly staff on [email protected] or call (07)3341 9770.
